Although Liverpool are yet to receive a bid for Philippe Coutinho, it appears Liverpool is now willing to let the move go through, and in this window to boot. According to Melissa Reddy on Goal.com, Barcelona are preparing a bid worth €150 million (£133 million), and pushing for the deal to be completed in this window.
More concerning, both Barcelona and Coutinho appear unwilling to wait until summer to complete the transfer, and Jurgen Klopp apparently does not want to go through another transfer window with this uncertainty (we’re with you, Kloppo).
As reported yesterday by Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, the deal will likely be €110 guaranteed, plus €40 million in add-ons. Adding to this, Reddy reports the add-ons would be likely to be achieved, unlike the summer’s offers.
Reddy goes on to say it is now a matter of “when rather than if” the deal is completed.
Moreover, and because when it rains, it pours, Balague reports that Liverpool have not yet bid for possible replacement Thomas Lemar.
Is it February yet?
