Fresh off reports that Liverpool are confident that with three clubs chasing Mamadou Sakho they will earn a £30M fee for the centre half this summer, word out of France is that Crystal Palace have stepped up their attempts to sign him and formally submitted a £28M bid.
This comes following news that Leicester City had reached out to Sakho’s representatives and were plotting their own bid for the defender. However, reports out of France further claim Sakho has rebuffed an approach from West Bromwich Albion, the third interested club.
There is no word yet on whether Sakho would be open to a move to Leicester, but with the player having already agreed personal terms with Palace, the London club are heavy favourites to sign the player before the transfer window closes at 11PM BST on August 31st.
Now Liverpool must decide if Palace’s £28M offer is close enough to their valuation to sanction a move or if they will hold out for more while hoping that Leicester’s interest will help to push the fee all the way to £30M.
