Lots of action happening between Liverpool and Hull City recently. While the big news is Liverpool’s heightened interest in left-back Andrew Robertson, but there’s more machinations going on behind the scenes.
The Championship side has reportedly set their sights on the Reds’ young winger Ryan Kent for season-long loan. While the Robertson deal is not contingent on this reciprocation, Hull hope that successful negotiating of the Robertson deal will give them an advantage in the race to nab the 20-year-old.
Kent turned heads last season with his highly successful loan away to Barnsley last season. The England youth international made 45 appearances and was even named Barnsley’s Young Player of the Year. He scored the first of his three goals for the club on August 26th against Rotherham United.
If Hull City want him, they’ll have a fight on their hands, because several different Championship sides seem interested in securing his services.
Klopp and Liverpool, for their parts, are likely keen for the young player to find another temporary home this season. With the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané both available on the wing, Kent would be unlikely to get consistent playing time to encourage his development.
