There’s a new name being added to the Liverpool Interest list: Anderlecht striker, Lukasz Teodorczyk. The Mirror reports that, while the Polish international has a contract with the Belgian side that extends to 2020, they are willing to sell him for £10 million.
According to the report, Everton and Sevilla are both also interested in Teodorczyk, with Sevilla already having made a bid for the player. However, negotiations haven’t been panning out the way the Spanish team would like and they have apparently given Anderlecht until June 12 to agree to a deal before they walk away from the table.
The entire rumour, more so than some of the other ones going around right now, should probably be taken with a few healthy pinches of salt, however. The Mirror states that Liverpool have been interested in and following Teodorczyk for the last year, but there have been no other concrete reports confirming the club’s interest. It’s entirely possible that the Liverpool connection may be something to scare Sevilla into bidding higher.
All of that being said, Klopp does need to expand the squad as much as he can ahead of next season and Teodorczyk has shown just how useful he is at Anderlecht, scoring 20 goals in 28 appearances this season. The low price tag (relatively) doesn’t hurt either.
It’s not the likeliest of all rumours, but it’s an interesting one. We’ll see if anything comes of it.
