For the past few seasons, Sheyi Ojo has been a young player that Liverpool fans have been particularly keen to watch. His goal against Exeter in the FA Cup made him the youngest Liverpool player to ever score in that competition.
And like all good things for the Reds, Ojo’s last season got cut short when a back injury limited him to making only two first-team appearances. The up-and-coming young player needs consistent playing time and top competition, two things that he’s unlikely to get next season at Anfield.
Klopp is therefore keen to see the Englishman go out on loan for more first team experience. Newcastle, who were newly-promoted under former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez after competing last season in the Championship, are said to be keen to get Ojo’s services on a season-long loan.
Benitez is reportedly interested in signing the winger as one of several upgrades to the squad that won the Championship last season. He hopes to use his contacts within the club to help ensure that he lands his target.
