We’re almost there folks. I know, I know. You want leaning. I want leaning. We all want leaning. Perhaps even a photo signing a blank sheet of paper, or holding up a Liverpool jersey. We’re almost there. I promise (unless he fails his medical and then ETW, panic, and burn the place down).
Where was I? Oh yes, Mohamed Salah is on Merseyside for his medical ahead of the transfer. If everything checks out—and it usually does—the pacy winger will be doing some—if not all—of the things listed above very soon thereafter, probably tonight or tomorrow.
Last year’s £34 million capture another pacy, goal scoring winger—Sadio Mane—was almost certainly the most important signing of the campaign. And his absence, either through African Cup of Nations commitments or because of injury, only highlighted just how important that piece is to the puzzle Jurgen Klopp is trying to put together.
Mo Salah might or might not be of equal importance to the squad this time around, but it is a positive move, one that will both help with depth and tactical flexibility in a year where Liverpool will have four competitions to navigate.
Stay tuned for more, hopefully sooner rather than later.
