Is it really a Liverpool rumour without Southampton involved somehow or the other? No. It isn’t.
Having run out of actual Southampton players to poach, the Reds have now decided to start looking at players Southampton have expressed an interest in. Vitezslav Jaros, the 15-year-old Slavia Prague goalkeeper, has been on trial for the last week and clearly impressed the powers that be: he’s set to join Liverpool in a £300,000 deal.
Taking on Jaros is not a violation of the FA ban on Liverpool signing youth players as it only applies to players from other English clubs.
Slavia’s CEO has said that the deal is already in place and Jaros is expected to move to Kirkby this summer.
“I was full of expectations, how will their academy and training be?” Jaros told Slavia’s official website. “On my first day at the academy I attended my first match against Derby County that we lost, but [I was happy] with my performance.
“I think I left a good impression and I hope to be back there in the future.”
