Liverpool have been linked, off and on, with Alexandre Lacazette since the summer Luis Suarez departed the club and a replacement was needed. Every year since it seems his name comes up at least a few times when the club seem in need of a few more goals.

Now, with Liverpool expected to strengthen their striking options in the summer with only Roberto Fimino and Divock Origi considered part of the club’s plans for the future, his name is being linked again. In part thanks to his own manager at Olympique Lyonnais.

“I don’t know,” manager Bruno Genesio told Le10sport when asked about the star striker’s future following Lyon’s 1-1 draw with Bordeaux. “He’s happy [here] at OL, isn’t he? We’ll see at the end of the season. It could be hard to keep him but we’ll see.”

It’s not just Liverpool being linked, though. Arsenal and Tottenham are rumoured to be interested, and even Barcelona has been linked, though the Catalan club seem an unlikely destination for Lacazette unless he fancies being stuck on the bench behind Luis Suarez.

Lacazette, now 25 years of age, continues to be a dominant force in Ligue 1. This season, the striker has scored 22 goals in 23 league games at a rate of a goal every 87 minutes he’s on the pitch. He has 27 goals and three assists in 32 games across all competitions.
