Brazilian Striker Cool on Supposed Liverpool and Manchester United Interest

Bordeaux’s Malcom doesn’t know about Liverpool or Manchester. Mostly he’s just angling for a move to Sevilla.

Fresh off Inter Milan warning off Liverpool from a player nobody knew they were ever meant to be interested in, a young Brazilian striker plying his trade in France is here to tell everyone he doesn’t know anything about supposed Liverpool interest, which is about the first time we’ve heard of this supposed interest ourselves.

For those trying to keep track at home, we’re talking about Bordeaux’s 19-year-old Brazilian Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira—or just Malcom, if you will—who was asked by Blog Ora Bolas to comment on Liverpool and Manchester United both being interested. He is, he insisted, only thinking about the present and Bordeaux.

“The thing about the Liverpool or Manchester talk is I don’t know anything about it,” he said. “I’m very calm, I only think about Bordeaux today. I want to do my job well and give the French fans joy. I have heard Sevilla’s [Jorge] Sampaoli like my football, but I want to just keep working hard and to stay humble, as always.”

So. That player, the one you didn’t know Liverpool were meant to be interested in, doesn’t know anything about Liverpool supposedly being interested in him and wants to keep his focus on Bordeaux. Unless there’s a chance for him to head to Sevilla, perhaps, as he is seemingly aware of that club’s supposed interest in him.

In other news, Liverpool’s extended February break is now half way over and we only have a week to wait until football returns and we can stop talking about players talking about rumours of Liverpool interest we didn’t know was a thing before they started talking about it.
