Liverpool Reignite Interest in Ben Chilwell

Klopp has apparently been keeping a close eye on the left-back’s progress this season.

We’ve had about four transfer rumours this weekend, and we’re only in February. Here’s another one for you: Liverpool are apparently looking to take advantage of #WengerOut and swoop in for Leicester City defender, Ben Chilwell.

While the 20-year old left-back has only had three starts this season, Jürgen Klopp is apparently (still) keen on bringing Chilwell to Anfield. The Foxes had felt pretty confident in rejecting Liverpool’s £7 million bid last summer, but they may not be able to say no this time if their downward spiral (fingers crossed I’m not jinxing the upcoming game) results in their relegation.

Chilwell will be a fine addition to the squad if Klopp manages to snag him: he’s a solid defender and doesn’t lose his head easily. Klopp has also had his eye on filling the left-back role for a while now, especially with Alberto Moreno’s season being what it is, and (presumably) with the intention of moving Milner back to a position he’s more comfortable in.

Klopp is apparently ready to up his offer from last summer to £10 million, and hopefully that will end up being an offer too good for Leicester to resist.

That being said, every transfer rumour at this point in the season is basically just an excuse to forget that we’re still on a ridiculously long break. I’ll start to get excited if this one surfaces again in April.
