Liverpool were forced to sell 19-year-old winger Sergi Canos to Norwich City last summer when the prospect refused a contract extension in hopes of earning first-team playing time elsewhere.
To this point, that decision seems like a mistake. After making his senior debut with the Reds in their final contest last year, he’s appeared in just five league matches for the Canaries this campaign.
Without regular playing time, Canos might make another transfer. The former Barcelona academy starlet is reportedly considering a move to Brentford, where he impressed on loan during the 2015-16 season.
In addition to the Brentford interest, Rangers are lining up a bid for the attacker, according to The Echo.
That’s of particular interest to Liverpool because their £2.5 million sale to Norwich City over the summer included both buy-back and sell-on clauses.
While this season has not gone well for Canos, he still has plenty of time to get his career back on track. At this point last year he was regarded as one of the Reds’ hottest emerging forward prospects, which shows how volatile life as young footballer can be.
