Reds Miss Out On Christian Pulisic

The 18-year-old American wunderkind signs a new long-term deal with Dortmund, which should end speculation for this window. Presumably.

Liverpool have more or less been constantly linked to 18-year-old American international Christian Pulisic since this summer (when he was a 17-year-old wunderkind). Well, that speculation should be over for at least the next 7 days, now that the Borussia Dortmund man signed a contract that should keep him in the yellow and black until the summer of 2020.

The young attacking midfielder has continued to impress for Dortmund, scoring 2 goals and creating 4 assists in 19 appearances in all competitions for the club. He also has 11 international caps to his name, as low bar as that is to clear for a talented American footballer soccer player.

This deal has looked increasingly unlikely since Liverpool’s failed bid for Pulisic this summer, but it hasn’t stopped the rumor mongers from rumor mongering. Of course, contracts are rarely worth the paper they’re signed on these days, so the American will likely be back in the rumor mill by mid-February, at the latest. Once a Liverpool target, always a Liverpool target.
