Roughly half-way through the January transfer window Liverpool fans haven’t had many rumors to really take seriously. Most rumors have been of the recycled “once a Liverpool target, always a Liverpool target” variety, and 20-year-old Ivory Coast international Franck Kessie is no different.
We first reported on this rumor back in November, and there seems to be nothing new to report here. However, that did not stop Kessie’s manager, George Atangana, from name-dropping all the big names, plus Manchester United, as possible destinations for his client.
“We have a lot of interest from the Premier League,” Atangana said. “Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal.
“I cannot say at this stage how much he will cost but we are talking about one of the best young players in the world.
“But for us the most important thing is that the technical project is the right one for him.”
The Daily Star speculates the central midfielder would command a fee of roughly £35 million for reasons. Additionally, they believe the transfer would have to wait until this summer, which is just as well because he is currently in Gabon for the African Cup of nations.
Kessie currently plies his trade with Serie A side Atalanta, who currently sit sixth in the table, sandwiched between the two Milan sides. He has six goals and two assists in the league so far.
