In what is surprising news, Tony Barrett—a reliable club-connected journalist—has indicated that Mamadou Sakho could leave the club on loan before the transfer window closes. Considered to be one of the club's leaders and best centre back, Sakho produced many fine performances under Jürgen Klopp last season.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager was quick to praise Sakho's talents after being appointed in October, but the French international has experienced some notable setbacks in recent months. A potential drug ban, injuries, and being sent home from tour have all been issues surrounding the 26-year-old.
Liverpool are considering allowing Mamadou Sakho to go out on loan as they look to get the defender back on track.

Sakho missed the end of last season, pre-season, and the start of this campaign but returned to training on Monday alongside Sadio Mané. He won't, however, feature for Liverpool for some time if this news turns out to be true. The aim seems to be for Sakho to regain his fitness in a short-term move, but in truth, key players aren't allowed to leave the club in these circumstances irrespective of fitness.
