When Brendan Rodgers was hired by Celtic, the transfer rumors linking him to his former players at Liverpool began right away. Though many of those reports carried little substance, one such linkage might actually have some truth behind it.
The Daily Mail claims that defender Andre Wisdom, who has spent time on loan at Derby, West Brom and Norwich City, is wanted by Rodgers this summer for £3 million.
After developing alongside the likes of Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe in Liverpool's youth ranks, Wisdom has seen his stock decline due to inconsistent performances and a lack of a stable position at the back. Still, he's a 23-year-old with time to improve, and Rodgers likely sees the Scottish Premiership as an ideal place for him to make strides.
Liverpool are currently in ongoing negotiations with Celtic over a potential transfer, according to the Mail's report, as the defender wishes to find a permanent home.
Jürgen Klopp has yet to inform Wisdom of where he stands in the manager's future plans, but it should be obvious at this point that his route to a first team spot at Liverpool is blocked off. As such, a reunion with his former boss could benefit both sides.
