According to the latest rumors, Liverpool will pay twice as much as they did for current starting fullbacks Alberto Moreno and Nathaniel Clyne (combined) to bring in Barcelona right back Aleix Vidal. The Spanish fullback transferred from Sevilla last year for £13 million, but Barcelona would be unwilling to sell for less than his £45 million release clause. Barcelona are keen to keep Vidal around as a long-term replacement for an aging Dani Alves.
However, Vidal seems to want a way out, as he has been sorely lacking in playing time since arriving at the Catalan giants. He has only made a total of 14 appearances for the club in the 2015-16 campaign, only accumulating 543 minutes in the league.
At 26 years old, Vidal should be entering the prime of his career, but the price tag seems well beyond what Liverpool would be willing to pay, especially at a position that is currently occupied by a very solid Clyne.
