Yesterday it seemed like out-of-favor Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev was on the verge of coming to Anfield either on loan or permanently. Today, those rumors are being flatly denied by the Spanish media.
The player's name might be familiar to the Liverpool faithful, as he has been frequently linked with the club over the past several transfer windows. And like the past several transfer windows, the player isn't coming here.
Both the BBC and Spanish journalist Guillem Balague are reporting that Liverpool were never interested in the left-footed winger, and that a move to Sevilla is more likely for the want-away Russian.
At this moment in time, Liverpool are NOT looking at him but he is looking for a way out even on loan https://t.co/E4TH4SVaBW

Phil McNulty had this to say about the apparent failed transfer of Alex Teixeira and the lack of desire to pursue Cheryshev:
Liverpool were linked with a loan move for Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev in Spain on Sunday night but it is understood there is no serious interest and he is likely to join Sevilla - so it could be a quite one at Anfield unless Shakhtar relent quickly on Teixeira, which they usually don't.
Transfer deadline days usually go one of two ways: crazy or quiet, and today the latter seems to be winning.
