If you’ve noticed an uptick in the amount of rumo(u)r mongering going on this week you’re not alone. With no Premier League action for two weeks during the international break, media outlets are filled with stories of potential transfers, no matter how far fetched.
This international break is no exception. According to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb Liverpool and Arsenal are in for 27-year-old striker Leonardo Pavoletti. Pavoletti is currently plying his trade with Genoa in Serie A. He has 3 goals in 5 appearances in all competitions this season, and 14 goals in 25 appearances last year. If Pavoletti is considering a winter transfer, it would not be his first, as he previously switched to Genoa in January of 2015 from Serie B side Varese.
Given the less-than-stellar track record of [insert Italian media source with no connections to Liverpool] in the past, this is probably a rumo(u)r that can be disregarded without much of a second thought. Also, this move would be especially curious when considering Liverpool’s current depth at striker.
