A £14.5 million move is rumoured to be on the cards.

Tiago Ilori is not going to Sunderland, José Enrique is close to becoming a West Bromwich Albion player, but what about that transfer deadline day stunner that excites loyal Reds? What can Liverpool do to recover from their humiliation at the hands of West Ham United on Merseyside? Buy a player with only hours remaining in the summer transfer window!

There is no better way to "make a statement" and "splash the cash" than scampering around a fax machine with time running out. If only there was a player who could invite fans to click on links and raise their hopes so late in thewindow. Enter the powerful and talented wide attacker Andriy Yarmolenko. If you believe the rumours spun by the Daily Express (via Italy it seems), your beloved club is about meet a release clause of £14.5 million to secure the Dynamo Kiev forward. Yarmolenko was strongly linked to Everton as August was winding up but could make a move to Merseyside via another route.

The report was a matter of lines so there's not much to add apart from this writer's own take on it. It's almost certainly not going to happen, but if one is entertaining the rumour, the departure of Lazar Marković on loan to Fenerbahçe could create room for another wide player in the squad. Particularly one who can score goals. Yarmolenko is left-footed so could offer balance, variety, and talent to Liverpool's attack that could use his directness, verticality, and physicality. If Marković truly has no future at the club, Brendan Rodgers may require new depth. Fabio Borini's departure could also offer more money to play with in the event he believes he needs another option to support the attack.

It seems highly unlikely to happen, but there's always room for a little deadline day madness.
