Over the past few months it has become clear that 20-year-old attacker Raheem Sterling wants out of Anfield. Over the entire history of English football it has become clear that Liverpool Football Club despises Manchester United. Therefore, reports of Sterling jumping ship to join Liverpool's rival make little sense even if the emerging star is unsettled.
Still, an article from the Guardian that stated that Sterling was interested in a move to Manchester despite the clubs' rivalry understandably raised some eyebrows. But the Echo now report that "Liverpool remain adamant they have no intention of doing business with Manchester United."
Sterling may very well move on this summer given his looming contract situation and his outspoken agent, but if he does jump ship it will almost certainly not be to join United. There's just too much bad blood between sides for that to happen, and from a competitive angle it wouldn't make sense to deal Sterling to a team that Liverpool will be competing with for a Champions League place on a yearly basis.
