Neverending links to players in England and abroad during transfer season are to be expected, and few have the staying power of Barcelona's Pedro Rodriguez. Few have found themselves on the verge of a move to Liverpool as often as the talented winger, who's been rumored to feel as though he needs a move elsewhere to find more playing time for what seems like a decade. The playing time hasn't come with any sort of consistency in recent seasons, but the silverware has, and the 27-year-old is part of the furniture at the Camp Nou.
But. But! What if he really is ready for a change this time? Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo wants to believe that this is the year Pedro finally makes an exit, and they're strongly pushing for his long-awaited Liverpool debut. He wouldn't come cheap, with an £18m pricetag attached, but he's a player that's so often linked because he makes sense for a Liverpool side that has long needed pace, skill, and intelligence from the wide areas.
As an alternative to other players linked, most notably Denis Cheryshev from Real Madrid, Pedro would be most welcome--despite his age he's still a player who would feature regularly as a threat across the forward areas. And, having won everything possible at Barcelona, stuck behind the trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez, chances are going to be getting any better during the final few years of his top flight career.
But this is one that's destined to remain a rumor now and forever more, one that will run until Pedro retires or Liverpool cease to exist.
