Another day, another Mario Balotelli rumor. Today, the rumor scribblers have aimed a little lower in their "club wants Liverpool misfit/outcast striker" missives, but but it actually almost makes enough sense to be truly plausible. Almost.

This time, it's struggling Italian club Parma who want to get their hands on Balotelli, with Gianluca Di Marzio reporting that the Crociati want him on loan to help stave off relegation. Parma sit dead last in Serie A after finishing a much-loftier sixth last season, thanks to financial turmoil that lead to player departures, point-docking, and finally a sale of the club so Cyprian and Russian businessmen.

Those owners are desperate to reinforce their new property in order to save them from being dropped to Serie B, and they've got a big job ahead of them to accomplish that. They've already liberated Antonio Nocerino from AC Milan, and most of their focus seems to be on other veteran players who seem to be out of favor at their current club, so it was only a matter of time before they were linked with Balotelli.

Balotelli certainly makes sense from Parma's perspective. He's Italian, he's talented, he probably wants more playing time, and he's got a point to prove. That's the kind of player they need in order to stay in Italy's top division, and you could definitely see him doing them a lot of good down the stretch.

Liverpool, apparently, are less interested in the idea, with Di Marzio reporting that they rejected Parma's initial advance. Time will tell if this stays a "thing," or if it goes by the wayside like so many other Balotelli rumors have.
