Mohamed Salah has no shortage of Liverpool player of the month wins, and he can add another to the list for November. Last month, the team began a push to get to the top of the league, which they achieved with their win against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
One ultimately inconsequential game against Toulouse in the Europa League was the only loss they suffered in the seven games they played in all competitions. They made it through to the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup and topped their Europa League group with a game to spare. Their league performances weren’t sensational, but they did just enough to allow the Reds to get on top.
Salah was a big factor in the team’s success. He played in six of the seven games. He scored three goals and notched one assist.
His 11 league goals this season puts him in second place behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who has 14. At this rate, Salah appears to be well on his way to another 20+ league goal season.
When asked about his favorite moment of the month, though, Salah picked his assist to Trent Alexander-Arnold in the Manchester City match.
“Probably the City one because we were down 1-0 and we managed to score one goal and equalise the game, so I think I would say this one. Scoring goals also is good but in that month it could be that assist for Trent,” he said.
He doesn’t seem to be stopping either. Already in December he’s scored his 200th Liverpool goal in the late victory against Crystal Palace.
With the uncertainty surrounding his future, it feels like this is the time to stop and appreciate what a massive player Salah has been for Liverpool from the moment he stopped onto the pitch.
