Liverpool’s Champions League campaign is set to kick off on September 15th against AC Milan and with the transfer window having closed, we now know who will be making up the A List squad available to manager Jürgen Klopp in two weeks.
UEFA today released Liverpool’s squad list for the 2021-22 edition of Europe’s premier cup competition, with new summer signing Ibrahima Konaté unsurprisingly making the cut along with all the expected Liverpool stars in a 24-man A List.
Liverpool’s Champions League A List in full:
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker, Adrian, Caoimhin Kelleher
Defenders: Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez, Kostas Tsimikas, Andrew Robertson, Joël Matip, Nathaniel Phillips, Trent Alexander-Arnold
Midfielders: Fabinho, Thiago, James Milner, Naby Keïta, Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harvey Elliott
Forwards: Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, Takumi Minamino, Diogo Jota, Divock Origi
It’s a strong list, and one that will be bolstered by B List eligible youth players who have been at the club for three seasons like Curtis Jones and Neco Williams. It would also seem to suggest that Divock Origi will not be departing the club.
Earlier reports claimed that Fenerbahçe had been trying to sign Origi before the deadline for UEFA squad registration. That deadline has now passed, and if Origi did join them he would not be eligible to play for them in the Europa League.
