Liverpool Expect to Add Evian Camp and Bologna Match to Pre-Season Slate

Rather than returning straight to England following their time in Austria the Reds are expected to head to France next.

Following this Thursday’s match against Hertha Berlin and the end of the Austrian phase of their 2021 pre-season, instead of returning to England the Reds will likely travel to Evian, France, and are expected to add a friendly against Serie A side Bologna.

The addition of a French phase to pre-season and a final friendly opponent before their Anfield matches against Athletic Club and Osasuna on August 8th and 9th would appear complete their schedule as they prepare for the 2021-22 Premier League season.

According to The Liverpool Echo, the match again Bologna is likely to take place on August 5th. However, neither the Evian camp—a destination the Reds have used for pre-season training in the past—nor their match against Bologna are 100% confirmed as yet.

That they aren’t yet 100% confirmed while Liverpool are expected to leave Austria before the end of the week speaks to the logistical difficulties staging anything like a traditional pre-season for a Premier League club while coronavirus remains a concern.

If their remaining pre-season games go ahead as expected, Liverpool will face Hertha Berlin in Innsbruck on Thursday, July 29th; Bologna in Evian on August 5th; and Athletic Club on August 8th and Osasuna on August 9th with the final two games at Anfield.
