Liverpool play the final game of the Austrian stage of their 2021 pre-season on Thursday, July 29th and then return to England for a final two weeks of preparations ahead of the start of the 2021-22 Premier League season.
And at least two more opponents have now been set, with confirmed dates against Athletic Club of Bilbao and CA Osasuna set for a 4PM BST kickoff on Sunday, August 8th and 7PM on Monday, August 9th respectively.
With four days between the Osasuna match and the league curtain raiser against Norwich on August 14th, they will likely be their last two pre-season games—though space remains for a friendly in the week leading up to them.
Liverpool last faced Athletic Club in a friendly in 2017, and last faced them competitively in Europe in 1984. They last faced Osasuna in a friendly in 1988, and the two clubs have never faced off in a competitive match.
Both matches will be played at Anfield, with an entirely changed squad likely to be named for each game and tickets now on sale with the stadium allowed to be filled to 75% capacity for the two upcoming friendlies.
