According to a report from the Athletic, Trent Alexander-Arnold is making steady progress and is ‘on course’ to return for pre-season. The Liverpool star is currently recovering from a grade two quad tear that saw him pulled from the England Euros squad just before the tournament started.

This can only be welcome news for Liverpool FC, which is also awaiting the return of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip from major injuries. Additionally, the potential departure of Neco Williams could leave Trent as the only option at right-back... with the currently injured Joe Gomez serving as the backup option. That’s not ideal.

With Ibrahima Konate added to the fold, it would best for as many settled pieces of the defence to be in place and ready to go.

In any case, Trent has got the summer braids on and is recovering well. All is good with the Scouser in our team.
