He’s so lovable!

Despite this blog being an online space, populated by people who at the very least are comfortable with browsing the web through an internet connection, we here at TLO understand that not every member of the site belongs in the Extremely Online category of Liverpool fandom.

As such, amid the twin woes of international football and relentless transfer rumour mongering, we occasionally feel an obligation to share with you some of the highlights from the more transient corners of social media that don’t necessarily make it all the way into the mainstream media landscape.

Ibrahima Konaté is, by all accounts, a wonderful guy. Often described as a humble, quiet professional, the 6’5 anime enthusiast — who this writer prays will strike up an unlikely zoomer friendship with Harvey Elliott ASAP — pairs his weighty presence on the pitch with a far more light-hearted demeanour on social media.

Following on from his hugely popular announcement upon signing with the Reds, the Frenchman, who has yet to experience the majesty of Anfield on a European night, did his best to emulate the experience while on holiday back in France, abiding by the no pyro no party ethos while blowing out his speakers with a rendition of his new club’s historic anthem.

I love him already, and can’t wait for him to experience the real thing in only a few short months.
