Rumour Mongering: No Loan Move for Caoimhin Kelleher

Ipswich Town are interested, but Liverpool have other plans.

According to a Liverpool Echo report, Liverpool FC have no intention of letting Caoimhin Kelleher leave on a loan movie this summer, despite interest from Ipswich Town for a loan move.

The (lovingly named) Tractor Boys currently play in League One, which honestly seems like too low a level for Kelleher to be playing at from what we’ve seen so far. The stopper overtook Adrian for the no. 2 position, making his Premier League and Champions League debuts. Liverpool are said to be ready to reward him for his progress with a new deal.

It also makes logical sense that Liverpool will want to keep Kelleher around as Adrian is due to be out of contract soon, and despite there being reports of Liverpool wanting to sign the Spaniard to a new deal, nothing is concrete yet.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper also made his senior International debut with Ireland on Tuesday. He came on for the second half in a friendly against Hungary.
