It’s no secret that Liverpool’s season has been massively derailed by an epidemic of injuries. And not minor ones, considering both the players and types of injuries involved.
However, unlike last season there hasn’t been a cacophony of disingenuous voices arguing to “void the season,” so Liverpool have had to make do.
Despite a disappointing quarterfinal elimination in the Champions League, Liverpool’s form has improved. When paired with other favorable results, the Reds appear to be in with a shot at securing Top 4 and Champions League qualification.
It would be a massive achievement, so long as more injuries don’t halt our current momentum. And thankfully, there are no new injuries to report.
“No, [there is] nothing,” said Klopp. “I only thought [about the question] because usually I always have some, [but] no new ones.”
It’s telling that Klopp, upon reporting no new injuries, had to really think about things.
The Liverpool boss also reported on the rehabilitation progress of those who are out.
“They all are [on track], Joe as well. Joe is outside running now and all these kind of things, which is obviously always a big step after all injuries.
“He looks fine when he is running, no real reaction in the knee, which is very important. It obviously still takes time but he’s in a good way. Like Virg, Joel and Hendo [are].”
Hopefully the healthy lads can get this one over the line, so when we come back at full strength, we can go win #7 next year.
