Jurgen Klopp Hopes To Celebrate His 100th Win At Anfield

At the seventh time of asking.

Just fucking win.

Since the start of the year, Anfield went from an impenetrable fortress—where teams reliably showed up, gave up all 3 points, and were just happy to keep it close—to very happy hunting grounds for away sides.

We’ve now experienced six consecutive losses and counting. It’s fair to say that playing in front of an empty home stadium has hurt Liverpool worse than most sides. And we now have two giant matches on the immediate horizon, the results of which could determine whether the season ends in a whimper or a bang.

If (a big if at this point) Liverpool can rediscover their impeccable home form, and soon, they have a decent chance to either finish Top 4, or advance to the Champions League semifinals. If not? Well, there’s always next year.

And if Liverpool return to their winning ways today against Aston Villa, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will earn his 100th home win at the hallowed old ground.

Aside from a nice little statistical footnote, the win would also put the Reds level on points with West Ham in 4th (what IS this world we’re living in?), and keep the race for Champions League qualification alive. Moreover, it would give the lads a much needed confidence boost ahead of the massive, must-win match against Real Madrid.

So, how about we just fucking win, yeah?
