Liverpool FC has been without the services of its reserve goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher for some time now. The young Irish shot stopper has been out of action since February with a stomach injury.
The word on the street is that Kelleher is close to making a return... as Ireland boss Stephen Kenny has revealed that he could be fit for next week’s World Cup Qualifier against Serbia. He also revealed that Caoimhin could also be back in training as early as this weekend.
That’s encouraging news as Caoimhin has stepped up admirably whenever called upon. He has played five times this season, including a standout performance in the 1-0 win against Ajax in the Champions League to seal qualification into the knockout stage. While Kelleher won’t be waltzing his way into his first eleven, it’s always good to have more of the squad back given our injury issues this season.
