Well, it’s the international break, and for Liverpool supporters that generally means one thing: injuries.

The good news is that we’re not heading into this break with a pile up. Trent Alexander-Arnold had a minor knock that kept him out of the Community Shield, but he’d be playing were there a Premier League game this coming weekend. He’s in the England squad, if you want to get nervous about that.

Jordan Henderson and Joël Matip were the two players with hanging concerns from last season, but if Jürgen Klopp is to be believed, these aren’t serious concerns.

“I think Joël and Hendo will be in parts of team training next week and we will see”, Klopp told the official Liverpool website. “Of course, the longer they have the better the chance is, but I don’t know in this moment”.

So nothing to worry about, it seems. All looks fine for the season ahead. Now just for the avalanche of half our squad playing 180 minutes over the international break with very different fitness regimes.
