Fabinho can hit ‘em when he wants to. His two magnificent goals last season against Manchester City and Crystal Palace are proof of that. However, his deeper midfield position doesn’t afford him many opportunities to show off that particular skill as often as fans might like.
Currently in pre-season training in scenic Austria, Fabinho admitted to the official site that Klopp has encouraged him to take more of those long distance shots that get fans’ hearts racing.
“He always talks about that I have to shoot more because I have this quality,” Fabinho said. “I will try.
“I know I can do this, I have to try more in the games. Sometimes I have the chance to shoot more from long distance and I didn’t do this because I prefer to pass. But I scored two nice goals last season and I just have to train this and try a bit more in the games.”
If the boss gives you the go-ahead to shoot more, then it stands to reason that there are going to be more stunners in the Brazilian’s future. He’s already won a place in the heart of the Kop for his clean passing and excellent defensive work in the midfield. If he adds more of those world class strikes to his repertoire, Reds’ fans won’t know what hit them.
