You may not have heard about this recently, but there’s a global pandemic about right now.
Anyway, coronavirus means no football, no football means nothing to talk about, nothing to talk about means nonsense transfer rumours. And here’s a good one. As far as I can tell, the story that Liverpool wanted to sign Chelsea winger Willian originated in Barcelona daily paper Sport. As we know, if you want accurate news about Premier League transfers, look to Catalonia. It makes an ounce of sense in that the Brazilian is out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer, and the noise has been that he isn’t happy with the offer on the table for a while.
So anyway, but two and two together to make five when there’s nothing else to write about and we have Liverpool signing Willian. For about five minutes. The Liverpool Echo’s Ian Doyle ended the talk quite abruptly.

Anyway, folks, it’s a very quiet time. People are absolutely desperate to get any stories out there whatsoever as the traffic dries up during the football hiatus. Considering almost no one knows what the crisis will do to Premier League clubs’ finances, we’re less certain than ever about what Liverpool will have to spend in the transfer window.
Not that any of this will stop nonsense stories, of course.
