Wayne Rooney is not exactly an admirer of Liverpool FC. Growing up playing for Everton before moving to Manchester United, you could say Rooney has a healthy distaste for the red side of Liverpool. He’s also the author of probably the best tweet of all time (h/t to Eliz for reminding me of this).
Utd til I die. Everton til I die. Believe. Come together. The beatles. Leg.

That didn’t stop him, however, for using a healthy dose of logic in an opinion article in the Sunday Times to express his belief that Liverpool deserve the Premier League title this season.
“Liverpool will win the Premier League,” wrote Rooney. “Now, as you can imagine, I have Everton fans phoning me up saying: ‘The season has to be cancelled!’”
It’s not just Everton fans, Wayne (coughs in Karen Brady).
“And, of course, as an Evertonian and someone who played for Manchester United for 13 years, there’s a bit in me that thinks that would be good...”
Don’t do it Wayne!
“But no. Liverpool have been fantastic,” continued the current Derby player. “They have put so much work in. They deserve this title. Can you imagine waiting 30 years and then having it taken away like this? The right decision has been made.”
There we go. Logic has prevailed, even for Wayne Rooney. Respect to the Leg.
