Yesterday’s win over Norwich was not the best Liverpool have played all season. It did not matter at all. It’s one step closer to the title.
Jordan Henderson’s importance this season has been beyond debate. He’s risen from some pretty poor early form to become metronomic this year. He was typically humble after the game.
“They caused us a few problems but overall I thought it was another good performance and we got the goal to get us the three points”, Henderson told Sky Sports, as reported by BBC Sport.
”I managed to go a little bit further forward once Fabinho came on. They are dangerous on the counter-attack so you’ve got to be aware of protecting against that too. I had a few half chances to assist or get a goal but it was tough conditions today, we’ve got to be delighted with the result.
”When it’s windy it always affects the game, but its the same for both teams, you’ve just to get on with it. There’s still things we can improve. We’ve got to get ready for another big game in midweek now.
”You’re probably bored of me saying it but we’re one step closer, it’s just about focusing on the next game. We’ve just got to keep doing what we’ve been doing all season, never change that.”
Henderson has his eyes on the prize. Liverpool have their eyes on the prize. It’s happening. It’s real.
