Many, many words have been written about how incredible Diogo Jota has been since he made his Liverpool debut. He’s scored 7 goals in just 5 starts and 10 total appearances, and he bagged a hat trick against Atalanta in the Champion’s League this week.

His performances, especially his display against Atalanta, have earned him praise from all corners of the footballing world. The latest to weigh in and express their delight over the Portuguese forward’s form is his former manager, Nuno Espírito Santo.

“He is enjoying his football, enjoying his momentum, he is doing amazing for Liverpool. I think (Jürgen) Klopp is really happy with him,” said Nuno.

The Wolves boss showed no ill will towards Jota for agreeing to a transfer to the Premier League champions in September, choosing instead to enjoy watching his former player hit the ground running at his new club.

“For us, we worked together for four seasons and when a player goes and succeeds it makes us happy.”

Jota’s early success is hardly shocking to the manager that saw him score 44 goals and assist another 19 in 131 appearances for Wolves, and Nuno expressed a desire to see the 23-year-old forward continue his excellent form.

“In the case of Diogo it’s not a surprise. Diogo loves the game, he is committed, he lives for football, he plays and watches all the games. I am really happy for Diogo and I hope he continues and enjoys it game by game. It’s a joy to see him smile.”
