It’s going well, going well.

Well, then. Diogo Jota seems to have been pretty amazing recently.

A hat trick tonight against Atalanta in the Champions League continues a very rich vein of goalscoring form. Liverpool ran out a 5-0 riot, and the new signing is just electric right now.

He knows it’s going well.

”I’m playing in the best team of my career so far”, Jota told BT Sport, as reported by BBC Sport. “I don’t know if it’s the best moment of my career but obviously scoring goals is my way of playing football. I’m happy with this, a great win away in Champions League, a good moment and a good night.

“The first one was my favourite because it unlocks the game – for all teams it’s important to get the first goal in each game. We scored early so that’s a good moment for me and the team and then we can manage the game our way.”

Obviously [Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mané] are two world class players, we all know their quality which makes it easier for me to do my job because they are outstanding and we had a great game together today.

“Five goals, that doesn’t happen so often to score five in one game. The clean sheet as well if we can keep a clean sheet against [Manchester] City we will win the game.”

That game is the focus. The Champions League group stages are all but done now. Go and win the league again.
