Pretty much everything is looking fantastic for Liverpool. We’ve had yet another excellent game, our captain has been named man of the match against Manchester United, and then there’s the whole three more points to our name thing. It’s easy to see why every single person wants to talk about the end of the season and the title race, but there’s clearly a party line and every single player is toeing it.

“We’re not really thinking about the end,” Jordan Henderson said after the 2-0 victory against United. “Why should we change now? Why think about the end of the season?”

“There are still a lot of games left; we have taken it each game [at a time] for a long time now and it has put us in good stead. So there is no need to change.

“The crowd were unbelievable again today. For us as players, it’s the next game, the next challenge – the Premier League is tough, there are some tough teams. United played well at times today but, overall, I felt we deserved the three points.”

“It is special, we’re enjoying our football but you’ve got to stay hungry, you’ve got to keep learning and keep wanting more,” he added. “To be fair, this group of players wants to do that.

“Of course, the manager is on us all the time to improve and we know we can certainly improve. It’s about every single day, keep going and keep going until the end of the season.”

The players may be keeping their heads down and taking this one day at a time, but Anfield (and Reds around the world) are slowly starting to believe.
