Did you miss them? Following Liverpool’s first pre-season victory against Tranmere Rovers on Thursday, a proper 6-0 display that included a brace from Rhian Brewster, Jürgen Klopp is getting another boost.

More of Liverpool’s stars are starting to filter back into Melwood after their summer breaks. Saturday’s new arrivals included captain Jordan Henderson, PFA Player of the Year, Virgil van Dijk, and Champions League semi-final heroes Gini Wijnaldum and Trent Alexander-Arnold. They’ve joined first players such as James Milner and Joel Matip who have already begun training.

The official website released photos of the players enduring the lactate test to welcome them back to work.

This is good news for Klopp and also those who paid to see the team’s pre-season US tour. These four are late arriving because of their participation in the definitely-not-pointless Nations League finals in June. This competition is also where Xherdan Shaqiri picked up an injury that is keeping him out of the upcoming tour.

But happier thoughts. It feels like years since we’ve seen this monumental team together, so it’s great to have them back.
