On Thursday, England lost to the Netherlands in the semi-final of the Nations League. Virgil van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum helped the Dutch make it into the final showpiece game against Portugal on Sunday.
England, who kept both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez on the bench, but played Jordan Henderson in the second half, let an early lead slip through their fingers to lose 3-1 in overtime. They’ll be playing against Xherdan Shaqiri’s Switzerland in the third place play-off match.
One person who may not feature in that game is Jordan Henderson, who has been confirmed as an injury doubt by England manager Gareth Southgate.
Southgate on #eng team v Switzerland: "I don't want to make wholesale changes." Adds, "we have (injury) doubts over Chilwell, Rashford, Henderson".

It’s unknown the extent of the injury, if it’s just down to fatigue after a long season, or if this is something more serious. Hopefully it’s Southgate giving Henderson a break for this relatively unimportant match.
Every Liverpool player could use a nice, long break after the grueling season they’ve endured, but none moreso than Liverpool’s valiant captain. The fact that he managed to keep himself fit for most of last season was a miracle, but one that will hopefully be replicated next season as well.
