Sadio Mané scored 26 goals, won the Premier League’s golden boot, and was arguably Liverpool’s most important attacker en route to a 97-point season and their sixth European Cup. Now he’s setting the bar even higher for next season.

“I think I improved a lot in my finishing,” Mané told the club’s official website when asked how he felt about his personal achievements last season and what his targets now for the upcoming 2019-20 campaign that kicks off on August 9th against Norwich.

“It was positive because I can say I improved every season, which is important in my development. I will try to work harder and harder to get better and better. We have a great, great team [so] the future can be exciting, for sure.”

He also had words of praise for the fans for their role in that 97-point, European Cup winning season, encouraging Liverpool supporters to do their part picking up right where they left off when the football starts up again in just about two months.

“Keep on going because we need you!” he said. “It’s very important. It makes the club special and it’s really important. Sometimes it can be a bad day and if the fans give you more motivation it’s positive for the team.”
