The number of games may be dwindling for Liverpool, but that just makes every one that remains even more important. In the dying weeks of a long and hard fought season, it could be difficult to keep up the proper intensity required to win and continue moving forward.
That’s why it’s nice for Klopp to have players like Joe Gomez returning to the team after months on the sidelines.
Trent Alexander-Arnold understands the significance of Gomez’s return and recognizes that the team will need everyone available to make it through.
“Hopefully we’ve got six games left,” Alexander-Arnold said. “It doesn’t sound too much but when you’re putting everything into it you need players to come in and out.
“It’s good to be able to bring different players in. Now the weather plays a bit more of a part and you have to put a bit more effort in. It’s exciting. Every game you want to play and it’s good when the manager has that faith and trust in you to play. We have to recover as soon as possible because we know we’ve got a tough run of fixtures to go. We’re excited.”
After making it into the Champions League semi-final against Barcelona, Liverpool are two games away from a second straight European final. And with less than a month to go in the Premier League season, they are still sitting atop the table. It is an exciting time to be a Reds’ fan and, it appears, a Red. Every new game feels like an adventure, and it’s good to have Joe Gomez back for these remaining few.
