It’s wasn’t 5-0, but Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over FC Porto in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday got them one step closer to a second consecutive semi-final appearance. The first half saw a gripping performance by the Reds, especially from the midfield, including Jordan Henderson, who played alongside Fabinho and goal scorer Naby Keïta.

Henderson is proud of his team’s performance against tough competitors.

“They’re a good team with good players. You can see that they’re dangerous going forward. They had a couple of half-chances I think,” he said.

”But overall I think we’ve got to be pleased with the 2-0. There were some good moments in the game [but] obviously we can do better. 2-0, clean sheet - that’s important. Obviously we wanted to come out in the second half and score one or two more if we could, but that wasn’t the case. We didn’t really create that much and it was a bit stop-start. We could have been a lot better in the second half. But overall we’ve got to be pleased [with] a 2-0 to take over there.”

The away trip will be no easy task, but in the mean time, Liverpool continue their winning ways with another Anfield victory and clean sheet to add to their already-impressive season tally.
