Andrew Robertson cost £8 million.
Barcelona could have bought 17.5 Andy Robertsons for the price of Philippe Coutinho.
Things are looking very tight at the top of the table. Today’s Merseyside Derby could have a huge factor in determining wether the title goes to us or Man City in May. Everyone’s getting excited. Apart from Robertson, however, who seems remarkably good at staying calm about it all.
“Everyone connected with football knows the Liverpool fans are desperate for a league title. We can’t hide away from that.
“You can’t say they are like any other fans because they are not. It has been too long without one and they are desperate for it.
“But we need to forget about that and concentrate by doing it on the pitch. The only way we can do that is by sticking together in that changing room and we have done a very good job of that.
“Whether that changes I don’t know, but I would doubt it because we are a close group.
“The fans will start building it up and things like that but that is something we need to block out. We’ve done a great job of that so far and we just need to keep doing that.”
Not only does he seem awfully relaxed about the league, Robertson even has ambitions beyond this, adding that “we are in two competitions and we want to try and win them.
“The Champions League can take your mind off the Premier League. But if your mind is on it, the Premier League is something that we should enjoy. It shouldn’t be anything that we fear.
“We got a taste of the Champions League last season and fell at the final hurdle and we want to try and fix that. We’re still in two, so let’s see how far we go in both of them.”
Andy Robertson is a good egg. Keep up the good attitude and we’re right in there.
