Christmas came early for Liverpool fans when it was announced that Liverpool had struck a swift and painless deal with FC Red Bull Salzburg for their impressive attacker Takumi Minamino. After two almost completely silent transfer windows, seeing a new, exciting player walk through the door at a time when they’ll need all the bodies they can get has got fans hyped.
It didn’t hurt that Minamino played well against Liverpool the two times that the Reds faced Salzburg this season. Instead of visions of sugar plums dancing in our heads, it’s visions of a rotated front line in the dead of winter.
The official website knows what the people want, and they released an almost eight minute video of Minamino’s first day on Merseyside.
Join Minamino as he wears a universally unflattering medical gown and gets stuffed into an MRI machine. Watch as he lays eyes on his new kit for the first time and goes through all of the press and interviews of a new signing.
The Japanese international comes across as a pleasant guy who will fit in nicely with all of the other pleasant guys already playing for this team. It will be fun to see him actually on the pitch, which makes it even better that the club got this deal done so quickly.
