Earlier today, reports from journalists with ties to Manchester United suggested the Red Devils were set to be handed an injury boost with as many as four previously injured players—headlined by midfielder Paul Pogba—in contention to face Liverpool.

Now, it’s time for Jürgen Klopp’s Merseyside Reds to get their own injury boost, at least according to The Liverpool Echo, who report that it has been decided Alisson will in fact make his return from injury on Sunday and be handed the start against United.

He will be joined by Mohamed Salah, who has been allowed to rest and recover from a minor ankle injury suffered against Leicester City before the international break, with the club now having no doubts about his availability for the United clash.

Meanwhile, with the game set for Saturday and an extra day, Liverpool’s stars who spent the break on active duty with their national teams will get a little extra time off before returning to Melwood to ensure they’re fully fit and rested for the weekend.

The trio of Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, and Fabinho have completed their international football for October but will not report back until Thursday, giving all of them the same short break players who stayed at the club received last week.
