Liverpool are set to add further to their coaching staff this week with former Manchester United and current England youth goalkeeping coach Jack Robinson expected to arrive at the club to serve as John Achterberg’s assistant.

However, Robinson’s arrival won’t change Achterberg’s primary duties at Liverpool—working with first team goalkeepers Alisson and Simon Mignolet in training and assisting Jürgen Klopp on the bench on matchday.

Primarily, Robinson will be working with Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher in training, as Liverpool rate both young goalkeepers highly and want to see them receive more one-on-one coaching than Achterberg can provide.

This addition follows the arrival of Thomas Gronnemark during the offseason to coach Liverpool on throw-ins, an appointment that has already seen defender Joe Gomez begin to develop into something of a long-throw specialist.

Robinson’s current role with the England youth most recently saw him coaching with the U17 team that won the World Cup. At United, his time as coach saw him working with both Edwin van der Saar and Davind de Gea.
