Jürgen Klopp is never shy about letting his opinion be known, particularly when it comes to fan interaction. In his first season, he chided the Kopites for singing his name before the final whistle.
Like dutiful students, Liverpool supporters listened, and now he has another request: a song for the one and only Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian striker has relished his role as a number 9 this season, becoming arguably Klopp’s most important player on the pitch, week-in and week-out.
“‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ is new?” a grinning Klopp asked of his interviewer on LFCTV, “I thought it was an old song! I heard it so often. That’s really cool. That’s a really, really cool song.
“All of them, they are so creative. Unbelievable. The only thing...The Mo Salah song is obviously fantastic, but they need to...do we already have a Bobby Firmino song?” Klopp asked, once again turning the interviewer into the interviewee.
“But [Firmino’s chant] is only ‘Bobby Firmino,’ right? That’s not a song. Hello? So I think he really deserves a song. I order a song for Bobby!”
So it is thusly ordained, down from St. Kloppo himself to the Red masses. You have your orders, Traveling Kopites: Bobby needs a song worthy of accompanying kung-fu kicks and yellow cards for excessive celebration.
